The Virginia Key Ocean Challenge is a challenging event organized by the Outdoor Connections, VKOC, The Paddle House, and Florida Paddling Trails.
The Virginia Key Ocean Challenge hosts 1-Mile, 3-Miles & 10-Miles races for all classes in several age and gender divisions. Race Courses open to all paddle crafts, teams and individuals, so you are invited to race for glory. The 1 and 3 mile races are tailored for casual and intermediate paddlers, while the 10 mile race is the perfect choice for advanced and seasoned riders to showcase their skills. You should take into consideration that the Virginia Key Ocean Challenge is not a flatwater event. The races take place on ocean courses, with current, wind, tide and traffic. Apart from the main races, you can take part in several recreational races and attend the beach cookout. The Virginia Key Ocean Challenge is a non-profit event. It takes place on the 6th of February at the Historic Virginia Key Beach Park, Miami, Florida.
