VKOC Guidelines

The Virginia Key Outdoor Center is a privately owned and operated facility. Unless otherwise stated in writing. Masks are required inside our retail room and bathroom. We reserve the right to refuse services to any visitors who refuse to comply with our rules and regulations.

 

Masks and social distancing are required while visiting the parks, VKOC and the Paddle House.  Please be sure to wear your mask while in the retail area, all indoor spaces including bathroom, and while engaging in passive activities such as walking. 

 

When Checking In: To make distancing easier we have rental agreement forms available under the canopy outside the rental office.. Please complete the form. Be sure to include your full contact info and emergency contact.  ALL participants must print and sign the acknowledgment on the back of the form. For minors, list names and parent/guardian signs. 

 

Returning from your Rental:  VKOC/Paddle House takes extra steps to sanitize all shared equipment and common contact areas.  When you return from your rental please place your life jacket or helmet in the designated bins.  Showers are available behind the facility for your convenience. Our bathrooms are open and stocked with soap for hand washing.  Sanitizer is also available on the deck and in the retail/rental room.

COVID-19 Cancellation Policy

Kayak/Paddle board/Mountain Bike Rental & Public Guided  Tour Reservations are refundable up to 24 hours prior to start time.

 

All activities are subject to weather. In the event of adverse weather VKOC may postpone or reschedule your tour or rental.

Miami Dade County COVID-19 Regulations

Curfew: NONE

Beaches: OPEN (see current beach status here)

Mask Mandate: 

  • Miami-Dade County requires key COVID safety precautions including masking, distancing, and disinfecting at all County spaces, including libraries, County parks and County buildings.
  • A federal mask mandate remains in place for all Miami-Dade County government facilities including public transit, Miami International Airport and PortMiami.
  • COVID-19 Safety Precautions including Masking vary from local businesses.

Hotels are OPEN: Visitors are encouraged to call their hotel directly to confirm level of operation as well as specific guidelines to follow while on property.

 

Restaurants are OPEN for indoor and outdoor dining for up to 100% capacity.

 

Entertainment Venues (Movie Theaters, Arcades, etc) are OPEN: Indoor consumption of food and beverages as well as live performances at these venues is allowed, with restrictions.

 

Malls, Stores and Retail Shops are Open
